Jonathan's Visit

My son, Jonathan, lives on Oahu, HI. During his visit we went a couple of places and had a nice time enjoying each other's company. He is so use to the warm water of Hawaii that when he put his tootsies in the water at Pacific City Oregon, he just about jumped out of his skin. The one thing he mentioned about all the surfers at P.C. was that they wore black wet suits. He said he'd never wear a black wet suit. I guess wet suits are made to look camoflagued and the sharks don't see you and mistake you for a seal. Good thing to know!

A few days later we took a drive over to Crown Point on the Columbia River Gorge. We had a nice, hot, sunny day. But there were fires burning in Eastern Oregon and the view was obscured by smoke from the fires.

The Sat. before Jon went home he was best man at his friend Billy's wedding. You couldn't have picked a hotter day for a wedding. Everyone, and I do mean everyone, at that wedding was dripping sweat. I took a few pictures, and went back to my car and sat with the air conditoning on for five minutes before driving off.

We just got back from three days at the beach....

Pictures to follow. Went to Cape Lookout State Park in the bus. The dogs had a blast walking out to the point, which took a few hours. When we started out walking the fog was so thick you couldn't see 10 feet in front of you. As we got closer and closer to the point of Cape Lookout the fog lifted and gave us a wonderful, beautiful view of the Pacific Ocean. We stayed for an hour or so, taking pictures and eating our picnic. Which was made by Blue Heron Cheese Factory in Tillamook Oregon. The best gourmet sandwiches for five bucks.
